PRO CIRCUIT: T-6 EXHAUST YZ450F
PRODUCT: Pro Circuit’s T-6 complete exhaust system is constructed of stainless steel throughout the head pipe, mid-pipe and end cap, while the canister is constructed of aluminum for increased durability. This system is not designed to meet FIM or AMA professional racing sound requirements. The T-6 features a removable USFS-approved spark arrestor.
POSITIVE: Pro Circuit’s T-6 system felt a little cleaner or smoother off bottom without giving it a jumpy feeling and pulled stronger through the midrange and made a small increase on the top end. We really liked that the Pro Circuit exhaust didn’t change the power delivery of the YZ450F. It just gave it more, and all without a huge hit anywhere, making it easy to handle. The spark arrestor option is alway nice to have.
NEGATIVE: The system comes with a spark arrestor screen installed, but does not include a tool to remove it. We made the mistake of riding with the spark arrestor installed and then tried to remove it (don’t do this; it is next to impossible). The system must cool down completely before this is attempted .
BOTTOM LINE: The T-6 system from Pro Circuit provides an increase in performance and rideability compared to the stock unit, along with the capability of a USFS-approved spark arrestor. At a cost around $800, this system is about $200 cheaper than the titanium system but delivers the same amount of performance. That’s a win in our book.
