In this weeks Two-Stroke Tuesday brought to you by Boyesen we give you another sneak peek at an off-road build we just completed. Our KTM 300XC build brings a little more aggression to trail life with a host modifications. 2-Stroke Hardware has premix machine essentials from Twin Air, Wiseco and DID while 2-Stroke Theater never disappoints to deliver that sweet music for your ears. Honda lovers don’t miss our exclusive link to a clean looking CR250R rebuild at the bottom of this post.

DSC_2425 copyOur overall concept on this build is to bring a little more aggression to the trail. The XC is a closed course competition machine equipped with rear linkage and WP AER Air Forks so thats an upgrade right off the start. We added a few more upgrades from companies like FMF, Hinson, Cycra and Vertex as you can see.

DSC_2397 copyThe Supersprox Stealth rear sprocket combines aluminum and steel for the best of both worlds. TM Designs Factory Edition 2 rear chain guide and the Bulletproof swingarm protector make a great team.

DSC_2423 copyCycra Probend wrap-around hand guards offer loads of protection and are a little overkill for west coast off-road but you can never have too much protection!

DSC_2434 copyThe headlight and taillight off an XCW bolted on to the XC with minimal modification and up front we just needed to fabricate a switch mount. The IMS tank adds some much needed fuel milage. KTM faithful might be wonder what skid plate we used, don’t worry it will be available to the public very soon!

DSC_2429 copyOur off-road builds have to include ample amounts of protection. This build has a P3 Carbon pipe guard, Cycra full coverage skid plate and BulletProof Designs radiator guards just to name a few items.

DSC_2440 copyOh forgot to mention we also built a Husky TX300 with the same modifications and added a trials tire to the rear for something a little different. What color is your favorite ?

TWIN AIR DUAL STAGE FILTER

This is where it all began. Over 40 years ago, the sandy, gritty soil of The Netherlands – and the resulting engine failures – proved that single-foam and paper filters gave riders air flow, but failed at protection. Twin Air’s breakthrough, fused-dual-layer design (now widely copied) combined performance and protection. The fused layers of open-pore foam and fine inner foam trap even the smallest particles. The new, rounder design boosts airflow. So do the minimized seams made possible by a revolutionary micro-gluing process: Shorter seams = more foam = more flow.

2-STROKE THEATER :

728X90_5

There are usually two types of used two-stroke projects—the refresh and ride and complete rebuild. If you come across a refresh and ride, it’s all smiles from day one—that doesn’t happen very often. As a matter of fact, your odds of finding a unicorn are probably better. The other type is the complete rebuild. During this type of build, smiles and frowns work together in unison, creating a roller coaster of emotions more volatile than a teenage girl. This CR250R project is the latter. CLICK THE IMAGE BELOW FOR THE COMPLETE TEST !
