JEREMY MARTIN BIG CRASH AT MUDDY CREEK AND INJURY UPDATE

After winning Moto 1 in the 250cc class at Muddy Creek Factory Connection Honda rider Jeremy Martin tangled with Star Racing Yamaha rider Justin Cooper early in Moto 2. Both riders went down hard. Cooper would remount and finish the moto but Martin would be forced to retire and go to the hospital for further evaluation. Martin was awake, alert and moving all limbs when he was removed from the track.

Once at the hospital it was learned Jeremy Martin suffered a fracture to his L1 vertebrae and will possibly undergo surgery to stabilize the injury. As of this time the doctors are hopeful that there is no permanent damage to the spine and Martin is expected to make a full recovery.
