From Suzuki: Loretta Lynns GNCC

Round 5 of the 2008 GNCC series is in the books and once again Team FMF Suzuki Off Road found success in the hills of Tennessee. Our sophomore sensation Josh Strang once again pushed his RM-Z450 EFI to the runner spot for the second race in a row. Despite starting third from last, the 20 year old Australian put on a charge and sliced through the pack to fight his way into second. From that point on Josh rode strong and steady and finished uncontested in second place.

Charlie Mullins grabbed the holeshot with his RM 250 and shuffled back and forth with in the top 4 for the first couple of laps. After the 4^th lap Charlie would secure third place and brought the 2 stroke home for third.

Paul Whibley gated second from last and struggled with arm pump for the first half of the race. After the second gas stop Whib’s put the hammer down on the RM-Z450 EFI and charged to the front. At one point he had passed his way to 5^th , but a lapper blocked his line on a hill and he eventually settled for 6^th overall.

Jimmy Jarrett had a great start on his RM250 put crashed on the opening lap and fell back to the back of the field. He rode hard and took a lot of chances but could only make his way to 9^th .

After 5 rounds, all four team riders are in the top five in points for the championship. Out of 15 possible podium places in 5 races, Team FMF Suzuki has taken 7 podium finishes and has had a rider on the podium in every round.

All four team riders will compete in the OMA race this coming weekend and then were back to the GNCC’s in Ohio.
