BLAST FROM THE PAST

classicGNCC
The year 2009, the place Unadilla GNCC. Charlie Mullins, Suzuki’s Factory rider garnered some assistance on this nightmare hill (that’s Rodney Smith and Mike Webb pulling him up). Charlie ended up 4th at the event, 3rd for the year. Interesting note here, his former teammate Paul Whibley dominated the season (KX450 mounted) with 5 wins while Suzuki’s other factory rider Josh Strang took second for the year, also with 5 wins.

KTM-Collars-600px

Pro Circuit, we never stop looking for new ways to improve dirt bike performance and handling. Our most recent upgrade is a preload collar and lock ring that make it easier to adjust your shock’s preload for select 2016 KTM and Husqvarna models.

The problem with the OEM preload collar for the 2016 KTM and Husqvarna models is its plastic composition. During use, the heat omitted from the shock body heats up the plastic as well. A combination of this, along with dirt working its way underneath, the plastic collar becomes deformed, which makes tuning and adjustment extremely difficult. Pro Circuit’s solution is very simple. We now offer a CNC-machined 6061 aluminum preload collar with a zinc-plated steel lock ring for improved durability and much easier adjustments.

Quality dirt bike parts, expert service & professional advice for the off-road enthusiast.
The Scott’s Steering Damper is the industry leader for quality, performance, and customer service. It is by far the best damper on the market. It is a compact, fully adjustable, hydraulic shock absorbing damper that mounts to your steering head area right above or below your handlebar mount. By helping to stabilize the front end of your motorcycle, the rear of the motorcycle will track straighter allowing the rest of your suspension to work better. In addition, the Scott’s Steering Stabilizer eliminates that sudden “jolt” affect of having the handlebars pulled from your hands after unknowingly hitting something unforeseen like rocks, tree roots or rain ruts. It has also helps to minimize rider fatigue and the dreaded arm-pumping situation that occurs while wrestling the front end of your bike.

Backcountry Discovery Routes Introduces 2016 Membership Program!

Since 2010, the non-profit organization Backcountry Discovery Routes (BDR) has inspired thousands of adventure motorcyclists to take advantage of the riding opportunities available in the United States.  BDR has produced six backcountry routes for dual-sport and adventure motorcycle travel.  These routes include feature-length expedition documentaries, maps, free planning resources and GPS tracks used by thousands of motorcyclists each year.

Now, just in time for the Holidays, BDR has launched its all new 2016 Annual Membership Program, featuring perks and giveaways from over 20 ADV brands.  The BDR Membership Program helps fund the creation of future routes, and gives the community a way to contribute to preserving off-pavement riding opportunities.

BDR Members can choose from three levels of support, each with unique and exciting benefits that include up to $500 in products, discounts and members-only privileges provided by BDR and its participating sponsors.

“Its exciting to see the growth of the BDR Membership Program over the last year, with more riders joining the program every day, and more companies wanting to participate by providing valuable incentives for the BDR community,” said Inna Thorn, BDR Manager.  “As a result of the Program, BDR is able to continue its mission to create new adventure routes, and support initiatives that promote access to and responsible use of public land.”

People can help to preserve off-pavement adventure riding opportunities by becoming a BDR member today.  Visit www.backcountrydiscoveryroutes.com/BDR-Memberships, email [email protected] or call 206-383-6233.

THIS IS JUST SOME PICS THAT MAKE ME SMILE

This is in my office, it’s Dave Ekins on a Zundapp 100 in 1966. I ended up buying one of these machines, a 1967 Six Days Scrambler that had Girling forks, 10 big HP, a low front fender and a 21 front wheel. I loved this wagon!!

Mental working on my bike! This is what happens when you have trouble sitting on the floor to work on your bike. Flip it upside down and attack. It’s easier on the back!

One of my favorite images ever, KC ripping through a water crossing. Kato caught the action and it still makes me smile.

That’s the Wolfster leading Damon Huffman at the Castaic MX track run by my buddy Shane Trittler. Actually I set up the whole deal just wanting a pic with me in the lead on my ’97 RM250. Damon about sucked my boots off in the next turn he came by so fast!!!
