THE WEEKLY FEED: DAVID KNIGHT’S GNCC MASTERY

A HISTORY LESSON

David Knight made the commitment to race the GNCC series in 2007 and he dominated the championship with his 7 wins. His main competition came from Yamaha’s Barry Hawk (second in the championship), Shane Watts who won the opener, Honda rider Paul Whibley who just started his rise as a player and Josh Strang who had signed with Team Suzuki Off-road. Knight spent two years in the states and won consecutive GNCC titles via 14 wins (he did race one event in ’09 and won the tough Snowshoe event on a Kawasaki). Of note 2007 had California sensation Kurt Caselli making his Lites debut (won the first two) and a young Thad Duvall who won three events.

WOLF: BACK IN THE DAY

The Wolf getting his butt waxed at Saddleback in 1981. I couldn’t blame the machine, it was a Pro Circuit built Jeff Jennings Replica Husky CR430. The machine hauled my luggage with a vengeance, my motocross prowess was waning mightily as racing off-road was my passion.
