The FIM Junior Motocross World Championship, including the two classes 85cc and 125cc, was held last weekend on the track Gorna Rositza at Sevlievo, Bulgaria.
The location was perfect to host the only round of the Championship, as Gorna Rositza won the Best Organizer Award for the Motocross Grand Prix MX1/MX2 in 2006, and will shortly become one of the two bases of the Motocross and Supermoto Academy – alongside Bellpuig.
In the 125cc class, KTM mounted American Blake Wharton dominated the event by winning both heats. Italian Alessandro Lupino, who was the Junior World Champion of the 85cc class last year, was second overall ahead of Valentin Teillet. Stephen Clark and Clemen Gercar rounded off the top five.
In the 85cc class, German talent Ken Roczen was the eventual winner. Suzuki mounted Roczen, who finished second last year, collected two back to back victories whereas Max Anstie was second and third, to finally mount on the second step of the podium. Jordi Tixier was third overall, while Aleksander Tonkov and Jason Clermont rounded off the top five.
