BRABEC CONTROLS NATIONAL HARE & HOUND, ROUND 4

Ricky Brabec’s RD 4 NHHA race report, held at Johnson Valley OHV in Lucerne Valley, CA Hosted by So Cal MC – AMA District 37.

“I had a good start. My Honda CRF450X started first push of the button and I was off and heading out to race with the boys and girls.  First loop was super fast and I made an early pass to get the lead at about mile 5 and really just tried to maintain it. I wasn’t sure of the lead gap I had so I was pushing and just playing it smart. The 3rd loop was 20 miles of rugged high speed rocks that was fine for me. Mid way point of the third loop I tagged a rock and the brake pedal had gotten bent under the clutch cover forcing it to drag the rest of the way. The brake eventually faded and stopped working completely and about a mile from the finish I hit a quad snake course and it put me over the front so fast. I quickly remounted and it was a rough finish but I’m excited to come across the line with a good lead and the win! Now I’m just sore and trying to recover” — Ricky Brabec
