WHAT’S UP WITH THE US BOYS IN EUROPE?–AUG 6
That’s a good question; last weekend Robbie Reynard made the jump over the Atlantic ocean to race the GP in Genk (Belgium) asguest rider for the CAS Honda Team. ‘He is physically and mentally very strong’, mentioned CAS Team manager Harry Ainsworth. Robby had a good show during the Saturday race finishing in 8th place, although he crashed at the begin of the 250cc final. The victory at the 250cc race went to Frenchman Mickael Pichon (Suzuki), followed by Joshua Coppins (Honda) and Gordon Crockard (KTM). For Mickael Pichon it was the 6th consecutive victory in a row in this season.
In the 125cc class Trampas Parker had the holeshot in the main and finished 5th, while Jeff Dement finished 14th. Tallon Vohland had a poor start in muddy conditions on Saturday and failed to qualify for the Saturday race. The 125cc class victory went to Belgium rider Patrick Caps (KTM), followed by Tyla Rattray and Steve Ramon. The Championship race is still very close with Caps leading for the first time by two points over Maschio. Five points back from the leader is Ramon, and Philippe Dupasquier now 17 points from the top after crashing and coming back from a disastrous race.
The next GP-race will be held in Gaildorf (Germany) August 18th .
