The 2018 Yamaha YZ250X West Coast Grand Prix project build is front and center on this week’s Two-Stroke Tuesday brought to you by Boyesen. We packed 2-Stroke Theater full of RAW videos, no talking just two-stroke action and 2-Stroke Hardware features items from Task Racing, Boyesen and Pacific Crest Pipe Repair. Have you seen our KX300AF build? If not be sure to click the exclusive link at the bottom of this page.

This machine was built for DB staff member Ron Lawson to race West Coast GP style events that combine motocross, off-road and pavement sections into a 45 minute race.

A Scotts Performance steering stabilizer system was mounted to the stock Yamaha triple clamps to help with those high speed section.

Drivetrain strength and protection is crucial. A TM Designs rear chain guide added protection while the DID chain and Supersprox aluminum sprocket added the strength.

Internally the only major change was a Rekluse Radius CX clutch system that combines their Torque-Drive, Core and Auto technology into one compact unit. We added V-Force Reeds and a Pro Circuit exhaust for some additional engine performance.

CST Legion tires and the Nitro Mousse combination eliminate any possibility of getting flats.

West Coast off-road is like nothing else in the United States. Pro Circuit, CST, Cycra, Nitro Mousse, Torc1, Rekluse and a few other key players help us conquer it with this build.

If this picture doesn’t make you want a two-stroke then nothing will. The crew at Pacific Pipe Repair turned our normal pipe into a work of art. They can do it for you too.

Boyesen has older two-strokes covered literally. They offer ignition and clutch covers for machine going back into the mid eighties and in most cases will have Rad Valve intake systems available as well.

Task Racings brand new Factory Baja Gore universal light mounting kit includes CNC machine T6061 mounts, pivot bolt design for easy installation or removal and comes with two different urethane bushings providing protection when tightening to eliminate scratching of the fork tubes.
