In this week’s 2-Stroke Tuesday we get a private look at Guy “Airtime” Cooper’s museum thanks to Brooke Lawson, give you a glimpse of what “PREMIX” is all about and show you the magic link to 2017 two-stroke bliss.
This is Cooper’s 1990 AMA Outdoor National winning RM125. This bike was actually a 1991 model because the bikes had been approved to race. (Picture Brooke Lawson)
With the championship coming down to the final round at Unadilla, Cooper had his mechanic change out the 1991 frame on his factory RM125 for the 1990 version because he felt more comfortable and had won more races on that style frame. (Picture Brooke Lawson)
After being dropped by the Suzuki MX team at the end of ’93, Cooper was picked up by the off-road team for 1994. That also marked the year ISDE was held in Tulsa Oklahoma, close to Cooper’s hometown.
