THE WEEKLY FEED: TY DAVIS OFF-ROAD SUPERSTAR • EXTREME VIDEO CHAOS • CRASH & BURN

BLAST FROM THE PAST: TY DAVIS OFF-ROAD LEGEND

For a ten-year period, Ty Davis was the most dominant force in off-road racing. Ty made the switch from professional motocross to off-road when ATK offered him a lucrative deal to race their machines. He raced in the four stroke Nationals and both the Baja 500 and 1000. This paved the way for a Kawasaki deal in 1993 and this is when Ty Davis found his niche. He struggled with winning on the hare and hound side since his teammates were Danny Hamel and Larry Roeseler. He opted to race the National Enduro series and won the title in 1995. Ty’s resume of winning two National Enduro titles (’95 & ’99), the National Hare and Hound championship in ’97, 98 & 2002 plus his 6 Baja victories have etched him as one of the most versatile champions to ever race a dirt bike. This shot is from the Adelanto GP, another event he dominated during his prime.

CRASH & BURN: Cody Webb

WOLF: BACK IN THE DAY

ISDE, Vasteras, Sweden, 1990. My first Six Days, which turned out to be the toughest of the four that I raced. Sweden is one big rock, the roots grow sideways and the terrain looks verdant but is hostile. I loved the country, dealt with bike problems and got to the end…almost. A DNF at the final special on day 5 left me wanting.
