THE WEEKLY FEED: THE EDDIE COLE SUCCESS STORY PLUS WILD EXTREME ENDURO VIDS

BLAST FROM THE PAST: EDDIE COLE

Started riding in the hills of Canyon Country at 14 years old. A trip to Corriganville MX in the late 60’s hooked him. He raced in So Cal on a Yamaha AT1 and Rickman Zundapp before switching to a Penton in the early 70’s when he turned pro. Eddie raced for Steve’s Bultaco and was racing across the U.S. In 1974 Eddie got a Factory Kawasaki ride for the 125 Nationals. The rotary valved machine tended to expire before the moto end and his results never showed that he was competitive. He switched back to Bultaco’s in ’75 and in 1976 Eddie started Answer Products- making Bultaco swingarms. Answer grew from 2 people in the garage to 200 by 1998. He sold Answer to Tucker Rocky, started Matrix Concepts in 2010 and now has Atlas and Tag Metals under Corp name Group 6 USA. Eddie is without a doubt one of the great guys in our industry! Thanks to Mark Kiel for the epic photo from Mammoth!

If you are in a time crunch, be sure to call first to get a time estimate. We will typically have your boots 3-4 business days once we receive them. Plan ahead, you’re probably going to be without your boots for at least one weekend because of the shipping time involved in both directions. Next Day and 2-day shipping is crazy expensive on a box this size so it would be best to pick a week when you know you’re not riding or have some backup boots lined up during this time.

If you have any questions, you can call Pro-Boot at 507-534-1247

Big fun here. Mid 80’s, Honda XR600. Fran Kuhn shot the pic as I was testing up in Gorman, CA. This machine left a grin on your face, but was a beast in the tight stuff, being beefy and cumbersome. On the fast flowing trails it made good broad power and the suspension was on point. I liked trail riding the XR, but wasn’t totally committed to racing one in enduros.
