This is vintage GOAT. Ricky Carmichael doing what he did to both outdoor and SX tracks, humble them with ballistic aggression! Honda CR250 mounted at some Supercross that I was shooting. And yes, this is him going bonkers in the whoops  during practice.

The signature hills of Glen Helen made for an exciting and successful end to the most epic season of motocross ever, the 2015 FIM Motocross World Championship. Stifling hot temperatures saw Yamaha Factory Racing Yamalube’s Romain Febvre rise to yet another challenge for his eighth MXGP round overall while California’s own Jessy Nelson took his Troy Lee Designs Lucas Oil Red Bull KTM to a double race victory for the MX2 Grand Prix win on his debut appearance.

It was also a memorable weekend for Honda Gariboldi’s Tim Gajser here at the eighteenth and final round of the FIM Motocross World Championship with the Slovenian winning the season long battle in MX2 to be crowned world champion.

That’s Febvre, Cooper and Josh leading through the first half of moto one.

Germany’s Max Nagl (the Husky rider driving past a rider going backwards and a downed pilot) had a miserable experience at Glen Helen fighting through crashes and mechanicals.

Mr. Cairoli, an  8-time GP champion showed great speed, but was wrapped in a chassis that lacked fitness from a broken arm. He will be back strong next year.

Cooper Webb rode incredibly smart and smooth. This was a great tune-up for the MXoNations next weekend.

Jason Anderson looked fast, but mediocre startshurt his results. He went 4-27 for the day .

Cairoli and Febvre battled early on in moto one. Febvre continued his charge to first, Tony backed up a bit just trying to get track time to help with his fitness.

Josh Grant went 2-1 and showed that he is worthy of a ride in ’16.

The new World Champion in MXGP2 is Honda mounted Tim Gajser! He’s struggling here but stepped up big with a 6-4 for the day.

Thomas Covington won last week but had a less than stellar finish at GH. He hooked up with Alldredge on lap one of moto two and started from way back

Paul Jonass and Tim Gajser battle for top Euro in the MXGP2 division. Gaiser won the battle and the war- snaring the world championship

Chris Allredge was a player in moto one, battling with the TLD boys and taking home second. A crash in moto 2 wasted his day.

Team TLD KTM rider Jesse Nelson scorched the MXGP 2 division with a 1-1 day

 THE TURKEY RUN, October 24-25

This is from Steve Johnson about this years 13th annual Turkey Run at the Crow Canyon MX facility in Ohio.

Dear friends, it’s that time of year again and we have some great news,  Mike Lafferty and his crew are bringing all the new KTM models again this year and Yamaha has returned with their line of off road ATV’s and Side x Side machines.
Our trail boss Norm Into will be at it again this year planning another exciting AA loop for all of us to challenge ourselves on.  I will lay out a fun “B” loop for the side x side machines, ATV’s and bikes that want a great ride through the hills of Crow Canyon without all the gnarly stuff that can really be tough if we get some rain.
We will have a host of products to raffle off from our sponsors again this year and will once again raise money to help find a cure for Rett’s Syndrome that has made life for Kevin Foley’s daughter Emma so difficult and robbing her of some of life’s most precious moments.  Please visit   to learn more about this disease and see what you can do to help.
A free event T-shirt will be giving to the first 125 riders each day that sign up so make sure to get there early and get a free shirt to remember the ride!
This year’s event is setting up to be the best ever as Crow Canyon trails just keep getting better now that it is a private riding facility and not ravished by riders that did not respect the land or all the hard work put in by our trail team that did their best to give you some of the most challenging and fun trails on the east coast.
I hope to see you there and please check in with myself or the team at AES to get more details.  Demo information is posted on the KTM and Yamaha websites for specific information about the demo programs and some of the new features and benefits of the new models.

The new shortie style dead ends from BestDualSportBikes answer the cry for the guys who wanted the original Dead Ends, to get rid of their handlebar vibration but who didn’t want to add to their bar length.  The new shorties still have the vibration absorbing lead shot inside, which makes the original dead ends work so well, and only weigh 5 grams less than the originals, so they are still highly effective on all 2 and 4 strokes. To install, you just cut 1.5” off of the end of your bar, then tap the inside and screw into place.  The new shorties now act as the last 1.5” of your handlebar.  Now the back east tree guys can get rid of the vibes and still sneak through the trees.  Only $74.95 from

G’day Everyone,

We hope everyone is getting out roosting on the trails now that the cool Fall weather has arrived! We are stoked to announce four of our new schools open for registration and we are currently working on getting out our full Fall school schedule.

Please see below for the complete list of schools open for registration:

26th (Sat) – Laurens, SC with Jason Thomas (4 Spots Remaining)

10th (Sat) – Bedford, KY – (6 Spots Remaining)

7/8th (Sat/Sun) – Denver, NC with Shane Watts – (5 Spots Remaining)

Dallas. Texas
Northern California
Southern California

**Unfortunately we are not able to conduct schools in Australia this year as planned due to scheduling conflicts and general life chaos. We are 100% certain we will be back in 2016 so keep a look out for us then!!
Yep, that’s right, at the end of this 2015 Race season we will be shutting down the DirtWise Race team, plus the DirtWise “Ready to Race” bike rental program, and instead we will just focus all of our future time and efforts back on our core business of conducting DirtWise Riding schools across the USA and the world. Actually our decision to shut these programs down (which mainly comes from only getting small returns compared to all of the time and effort its takes to do them) was made way back in early January of this year, so essentially we’ve just been waiting it out until now when it’s time for us to start selling everything up.  If your keen on any machines  email [email protected] for information about a number of KTM’s that are for sale with free Shipping anywhere in the U.S.

Wolf: Back in the Day

This was 1993 and I was on my Husaberg 501. I loved this scoot as it was the first 4-stroke that I ridden that had truly made rideable and competitive power. Eventually I  swapped out the fork for a Marzocchi (the WP was lacking in plushness, feel and control) that was way smooth, plus fit on Honda wheels and Nissan brakes. This is the Best in the Desert Mesquite GP,which was flat brutal! Blow sand made for nasty hack and whoops that pounded you into paste.

Thank you and I hope we passed the audition…
