WOLF: BACK IN THE DAY

My only trophy at the Blackwater 100 came in 1987 after I had blown up a brand new Suzuki RM250 the day before when I went out playing with a very young Davey Coombs. It was an exclusive machine and they were not happy with me (and Dave and Rita nearly throttled me since Davey and I melted both of our machines after getting mired in the bogs. We came in at dark after hitching a ride and they were PO’d!) Dave Coombs Senior loaned me his Honda CR250 and in spite of two flats and a gaggle of awkward getoffs I took home a coveted trophy. It is to this day a biggie.
