RICKY CARMICHAEL DAYTONA AMATEUR SUPERCROSS OFFERS OVER $147,000 IN MANUFACTURER CONTINGENCY TO RACERS

156_rcsx_sunday_heats_2383

The Seventh Annual Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross (RCSX) is set to give away $147,525 in amateur contingency to racers participating in this year’s two-day event at the iconic Daytona International Speedway (DIS) in Daytona Beach, Florida. This unique race takes center stage following Saturday’s Daytona Supercross by Honda, with qualifying on Sunday, March 6 and finals following on Monday, March 7.

This year all seven major factory OEM’s including Kawasaki, Yamaha, KTM, Suzuki, Honda, Husqvarna and Cobra are offering up generous contingency programs to amateur racers. In addition to their hefty contingency programs, all seven manufacturers will have trackside support teams on-site to lend a hand to support amateur racers on their respective brand at DIS.

“We are overwhelmed with the support from all of the manufacturers for the seventh running of this prestigious event,” said MX Sports Director Tim Cotter. “Not only have these companies posted substantial contingency programs for our athletes, their rigs and staff will be on hand with factory support.”

This event also serves as the opening round of the 10-round Womens Motocross Championship (WMX), featuring the fastest females on two wheels. The class structure includes 36 classes for youth riders on 50cc bikes all the way up to vet and senior classes. The race will follow a supercross format, using heat races and last chance qualifiers to seed the field of riders into a main event in each class.

Live streaming will be provided by RacerTV.com on Monday, March 7.

For additional information, visit the series official website at www.racedaytona.com or call (304) 284-0101. Also follow the official Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts for exclusive content and to catch the latest news.

THE INFAMOUS SOBOBA TRAIL RIDE

This trail ride has had a tremendous run at the Soboba Indian reservation. It’s been endorsed by Malcolm Smith and features some of the most challenging terrain that we have in the state. You get to ride your bike on trails that are not blocked by fences, housing tracks or irritating neighbors. Discover why professional riders, industry greats, Hollywood stuntmen and riders of all levels congregate each year to get their one shot to ride where no one is allowed to ride the rest of the year. This ride is challenging, but not impossible for riders of lower skill levels. It’s an event and you need to be a part of it. Rumors say this may have been the last one. Let’s hope not. Here’s a photo gallery courtesy of Karel Kramer.

WOLF: BACK IN THE DAY

WOLFBITD
The Mesquite Grand Prix was always one of my favorites races that I hated. It was brutal, blow sand, sharp edged whoops and a tough Casey Folks course that tested every facet of your grit and your heart. I always did well there, just too stupid not to quit I guess. This is 1993 and I’m Husaberg 501 mounted.
