From Ricky Johnson:

Hey Wolf, we’re back here in Fayatville  NC, training allied special forces in tactical  SUV and off road motorcycle skills, I’ll send more pics today
Sent from my iPhone. Note, Ricky invited my brother Mike to help work with Special Forces personnel from various parts of the world and teach them basic skills of off-road riding that can help them in their job.

IN THE GARAGE

My buddy Larry Roeseler in an ad for Malcolm Smith Racing back in 1988.

I love this poster and miss the man every time I see it.

What a shot! Classic moto from the early 70s and to be honest I’ve always thought that this was Jiri Stodulka, a factory CZ racer who battled with DeCoster, Robert and Bengt Aberg. Jiri went on to race several ISDT events and long distance Rally races.

WOLF: BACK IN THE DAY

The Czech ISDE, 1991. This is a terrain test on day 4 and I’m hanging onto a Silver medal. My bike was a KTM300 which I rented, fit it with my setup including bars, hand guards, suspension (I ran an Ohlins shock and a fork that KTM’s Tom Moen setup for me for the Qualifier series), an Acerbis plastic muffler (long, smooth power and very quiet), an FMF pipe (which made the entire 6-days!) and a tall Tecnosel saddle.
