Team Kawasaki’s Jeff Ward at Mid Ohio Trans Am circa 1979. This was Jeff’s second year as a pro (he signed with Suzuki in 1978) and while he impressed people, few would know that he would go win 56 wins in both National and SX, seven AMA titles (2 SX-5 Outdoor) and was on seven winning Motocross des Nations teams.

WOLF: BACK IN THE DAY

I’m KTM 360 mounted and racing the Laughlin Hare Scrambles-one of my favorite events ever! My buddy Dick Wilk built this machine and this is the day before the race and we’re testing. The bike was a missile and I could barely hang on. I made Dick de-tune it and then things went well for the race. I’m pretty sure that this was a1998.
