BLAST FROM THE PAST: Tommy Croft ’75 USGP

Larry Watkins, clad in a Rickman jersey and racing a Honda (he was a true So Cal go-faster!) waves Team Honda’s Tommy Croft by during the Support class race for the Carlsbad USGP in 1975. Kudos to Mark Kiel for the stellar pic.

WOLF: BACK IN THE DAY

The  Quicksilver National Enduro held at Clear Creek Management area in 1984 and was won by Kevin Hines, who was racing for Team HQV. I rode a fairly stock KTM 250MXC, on the same row as Kevin Hines and this started a friendship that had him coming down from Connecticut every year and stay with me and we’d ride, and ride and ride. That dude was an animal. I ended up eighth overall in ’84.
