BLAST FROM THE PAST: TOMMY CROFT

Tommy Croft, AKA Tomahawk, was a driving force in the early motocross years during the mid-seventies. He signed with Honda in 1975 and along with his friend and neighbor Marty Smith, they helped put the Red Machine onto the main stage. The Tomahawk won 500cc Nationals in ’77 and ’78 racing for Honda, then made the switch to Kawasaki where a second place finish at the 1979 Pontiac Supercross highlighted his green ride. Tommy moved into off-road truck racing following his motocross career.

STICKS AND STONES SILVER MOUNTAIN XTREME CHALLENGE

We know very little about this event, other than the great feedback from racers like Colton Haaker. The race is the Silver Mountain Xtreme Challenge held in Kellogg, Idaho. Five-time snowmobile hillclimb champ and 2017 Erzberg finisher Keith Curtis won the event, followed in by RPM’s Trystan Hart and Husqvarna’s Colton Haaker. Superb terrain and great conditions lured in some strong talent for the Silver Mountain Xtreme event.

WOLF: BACK IN THE DAY

My first ISDE, Sweden 1990. My good buddy Charles Halcomb sits below me, Barrett Brown is to my left and Shawn Heiberger is on the far left. This was right around opening ceremonies and the umbrellas are out. Rain hit the event hard on day three and made a tough event absolutely brutal.
