THE WEEKLY FEED: DANNY LAPORTE PENTON MOUNTED, CHRISTMAS CHEER AND VIDS THAT PUMP

BLAST FROM THE PAST: Danny LaPorte 1973  Penton 250 Scrambler

In Danny’s words: “That’s one of the first times I raced the yellow tank Penton Scrambler I borrowed from my dad (which I ended up confiscating) hoping one day to be on the Mettco team, with Chuck Bower and Bruce McDougal ! I remember how good it felt just to get a discount and a free jersey from your local dealer. I finally earned that ! I remember like it was yesterday cutting out the # H4, those little things are the best memories.”
Chuck Bower #8, and Bruce McDougal #2A were key members of the powerhouse Penton Mettco team.

WOLF: BACK IN THE DAY

Horsing around here while Fran Kuhn is trying to shoot my 1992 Suzuki RMX that I took to the ISDE in Cessnock, Australia. That trip was one of the best in my ‘all time’ list. Loved the people, the wine, the golf with Randy Hawkins and Roost, and of course the event. The Aussie’s put on a tough one, long days, not a whole lot of cruising and by the time I got to the final moto both arms were numb to my lips. Silver medal for the Wolfster, and I’m damned proud of it.
