THE WEEKLY FEED: BRAD LACKEY ALTERED STATES • HARD ENDURO/GNCC VIDS • YAMAHA YZ465 BITD

BLAST FROM THE PAST:

The transformation of Brad Lackey

Two classic Brad Lackey photos. The first as a young 'rock star' at a  1970 Inter-Am.
CZ mounted, Brad is wearing  a Buffalo Breath rugby jersey, untucked, locks flowing. The
second shot less than a decade later as a seasoned Factory GP Husqvarna racer. Gear and
style totally on point!

BETA DOMINATES MURPHY IDAHO NATIONAL H&H
Joe Wasson Factory 480 RR “Round 3 of the NHHA in Idaho went awesome! I was able to grab the overall after running second most of the day. I made a pass right at the end of the race to finish on top of the podium!”
Another strong showing in the desert for the Beta Race Team. Each rider on the team earned a podium in their class once again. Zane and Joe battled the entire race in the Pro Class. Zane led most of the race, but Joe found a way to get around him towards the end of the race to take the victory. In the Pro 250 class, Cole got off to a bad start but battled back. He was gaining on the leader but ran out of race track to catch him and had to settle for 2nd. Morgan raced hard in the Women’s Pro Class with the leaders all swapping places during the race, she still ended up on the podium in 3rd.
Results
Joe Wasson – 1st Place – Pro Class
Zane Roberts – 2nd Place – Pro Class
Cole Conatser – 2nd Place – Pro 250 Class
Morgan Tanke Colón – 3rd Place – Women’s Pro Class

WOLF: BACK IN THE DAY

Sunrise Cycle Park, 1980. We’re testing the new 1981 YZ465 and it was my first outing with Dirt Bike and working with Yamaha’s Ed Scheidler. He was Pierre Karsmakers’Factory mechanic and was just starting his job in testing, and working with the magazine guys setting up their machines. The man taught me how to really test a dirt bike, how to think about what the bike was doing and making changes and how they altered the lay of the land. Super Hunky snapped this pic!
