Stewart Crashes, Villopoto Clinches

Despite three races already held just two hours north in Anaheim, over 60,000 supercross fans (the largest turn-out so far this year) turned out to watch a great early race battle between James Stewart and Chad Reed. Almost mid-way through, the Kawasaki rider clipped a hay bale and gave the lead back to Reed for good. Reed and his San Manuel Yamaha-backed went on to score his first AMA win of the year with Stewart finishing fifth.

In the 250 Class, Ryan Villopoto scored the series title (and Pro Circuit?s 20th) after another dominating win.Yamaha of Troy rider Jason came from mid-pack to finish second with RV?s Monster Energy/Pro Circuit teammate Chris Gosselaar having a good race to finish third.

The AMA Supercross series now heads to Atlanta, Georgia for the fist east coast round where the Stewart/Reed battle will continue and a new 250 class battle begins.
