SEPT 27—HAWK IS A MOUNTAINEER

SEPT 27?HAWK IS A MOUNTAINEER

(Press Release)

Battles and wars were decided at the first-ever Mountaineer GNCC in Summersville, West Virginia. The race winners were very happy with their performances, but the runner-ups were just as thrilled with their place in the championship points standings.

Hawk battled early with points leader Rodney Smith and upstart Australian off-road ace Glenn Kierney. They battled while other favorites, like Jason Raines, struggled in the pack. After a few laps, Hawk had enough of the battling and started pulling away, while Smith was content to protect his points lead and take second. From there the race was on for third as Kierney dealt with pressure from Throttlehead.com Kawasaki’s Josh McLevy and Moose/Parts Unlimited Honda’s Scott Summers.

In the end Hawk, Smith and Kierney took the podium spots, while Raines could only muster a seventh. What happened to Jason? He isn’t telling, but regardless, the veteran master, Mr. Smith, is in the perfect position to claim his fifth-career GNCC title.
