SEPT 21: GNCC ROUND #11 PREVIEW

SEPT 21: GNCC ROUND #11 PREVIEW

MOUNT MORRIS, PA

What will happen when the top GNCC riders meet at the ever-elusive Mount Morris round? The optimal question to ask is who will be the next winner? Statistically, points leader Jason Raines hasn?t won an event since round six, and has been floundering as of late (15th and 13th respectively in the last two rounds). However, he should be given extreme recognition for his never-say-die attitude after breaking his leg and riding injured the last two rounds. How will his leg hold up this weekend? Hopefully he?ll battle through the pain long enough to at least maintain his 19 point advantage over Rodney Smith.

Speaking of Smith, the elder statesman of the class has been having a tough time in catching up to Raines in the point standings. While consistency is one thing, Rodney should be charging to the front and never looking back in hopes of sweeping the title out from underneath Raines. Maybe this weekend will prove absolute success for the Suzuki rider should he garner a win, otherwise he might need help from Jason Raines in the form of Jason finishing outside the top ten.

There really isn?t any telling what might happen this weekend at Mount Morris, but one thing is certain. If ominous skies drench and mire down the track (chance of scattered showers likely for Saturday and Sunday), you will see some of the best racing in some truly seriously tough conditions.
