PRODUCT TEST: LEATT DBX 4.0 WINDBLOCK

PRODUCT: The Leatt DBX 4.0 Windblock glove comes out of the company’s bicycle department but easily plays a dual role in off-road/moto. It’s made from engineered windproof material, has a NanoGrip palm and CE-certified impact protection on the knuckles and fingers.

OUR TAKE: This glove flat works! It’s incredibly comfortable, super thin through the palm, and the Armourgel impact guards found on the knuckles and third and fourth fingers are very pliable and comfortable even when flexed. And, it’s durable beyond belief. In the three months that we’ve been using the Leatt glove it has held up perfectly. There are no Velcro closures; rather, it uses a stretch-fit cuff at the wrist to snug things up. The NanoGrip palm is ultra thin for an enhanced feel, the fibers are thinner than hair, it works well when wet, has a pre-curved and seamless palm, and the fingers are touchscreen-optimized (so you can use your iPhone).

BOTTOM LINE: This may be the best glove we’ve used in years. The great feel, wind-blocking material and just enough knuckle coverage to ward off trail hits make it a winner.

PRICE: $54.95.
