The TPI bike’s TPS sensor is in a very vulnerable spot and prone to crash or trail-spear damage. If you wound the TPS in any way, there is a good chance your bike will not run and you may be stranded. Also, it will cost a good deal of money to replace the sensor ($300). The Bullet Proof Designs TPS guard is a direct replacement for the flimsy-plastic stock unit. It is a thick billet piece that mounts directly to the throttle body, so it can take a much larger hit than stock if you were to crash on this side. Installation is easy, but you have to remove the two security Torx screws holding the TPS sensor and reinstall them into the new cover. Bullet Proof designs provides the T25 safety bit for removal and reinstallation of the TPS cover bolt.
