(Fred Andrews) Fred Andrews powered his #003 Kawasaki to the front in Ohio at the second to last round of this year?s GNCC Championship. Coming off a strong performance in Mount Morris, placing second on the rough and tumble circuit, Andrews snuck away with his second win of the season. The win propelled the Team Green rider into second place overall, only ten points behind leader Rodney Smith.
Barry Hawk, who won at Mount Morris, kept Andrews honest by charging the course and finishing only 20 seconds behind Andrews and notching a second place on the day. The two strong finishes have shot Hawk up the point standings into seventh place. With one round remaining, Barry could nab sixth place from Chuck Woodford.
(Mike Kiedrowski–Right) The ever-impressive Mike Kiedrowski finished third overall and two minutes behind Andrews and Hawk, but should take over fourth place in the point standings. With Jason Raines being hampered by a broken leg sustained mid-season and electing not to race on Sunday, Kiedrowski has an opening to move up in the point standings. (Rodney Smith) With only one round remaining, it looks like Rodney Smith could retain the championship for the fourth time in his career. Up until mid-season, it looked like Smith would have his hands full if he were to win the championship this season with Jason Raines having a stellar year, but Raines suffered a broken leg and hasn?t regained his form. Stay tuned for the last race in Crawfordsville, IN, because the points battle is extremely close between first and third, and as you can see, anything can happen.
