ONE WITH NATURE, USED BIKE STYLE: MR. KNOW-IT-ALL

UNEXPECTED GROWTH
Dear Mr. Know-It-All,
In regards to your response to Mr. Tonks’ question concerning used-bike fitness, I would suggest there are other factors one must consider in the era of ESG and related issues surrounding sustainability. Your readers should be careful to check for broader environmental risks, as once it is determined that Mother Nature has decided to take back possession of a motorcycle, government regulations may make it difficult to restore that machine to its former man-made glory. Take, for example, this once-magnificent first-gen Elsinore 250. In a previous life, it was a work of high motocross art (witness the trick handmade fin extensions), but it has now been “grounded,” thanks to local environmental regulations restricting tree removal from Mikuni carburetors. A sad situation indeed, but certainly one that merits a warning to all prospective motorcycle buyers. Check all orifices for unexpected vegetation growth.
