The Old School Scrambles for February 2023 took place in a very old-school fashion; under rainy skies on a slick, muddy track. That didn’t present any issues for the mixed crowd that shows up on a regular basis for this series. If anything, they seemed to thrive on the conditions. The event is open to just about anything. There are classes for modern bikes, minis and sidehacks in addition to Vintage, Evo and Revo races. The course is built on the Glen Helen truck track and is relatively smooth with lots of turns; that’s why they call it “old school scrambles” as opposed to motocross. The idea is to provide a place to showcase your classic machine as well as provide light competition. Gary Jones explains how it all works in this video. For more information go to ossrg.org.
