This is a city park and golf course now, but this was the original location of the Santa Cruz Ridge Runner, and Edison Dye hosted INTER-AM MOTOCROSS RACE in Northern California in 1968. Edison Dye was introducing MX to the United States, and this was one of the early events of Edison introducing the European Motocross and Racers to the United States.
This motocross reunion will be a fundraiser for Road 2 Recovery; as you may already know, this non-profit helps injured motorcycle racers with finances and resources due to their racing injuries. This will be a Northern California Motocross Reunion in conjunction with the Santa Cruz Ridge Runners motorcycle club. There will be an optional mountain bike ride in the afternoon (12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.) as well as an optional shotgun scramble golf tournament from 10 a.m. – 2:30 P.M.
The main event of the reunion will be from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. which will showcase Vintage Motorcycles, along with interviews and storytelling directly from the stars of the ’70s and ’80s. A BBQ tri-tip dinner will be provided at $100/per person down by the BBQ area.
So far, Brad Lackey, Billy Grossi,David Bailey, Tom Rapp, Larry Wosick, Donnie Cantaloupi, Broc Glover, Ricky Johnson, Geoff Fox and Steve Simons have committed to attend. The list of other invitees that we are awaiting confirmation on from Darrell Shultz, Roger DeCoster, Christopher Hammorgen and many others……..The rider list is growing daily!
