Monster Energy Kawasaki?s Nathan Woods Injured |
Woods? crash came just before noon on Sunday on his third and final test of the day. “I was riding smooth and flowing well until I went around a right corner and went a little wide into some bushes, which caused me to crash,” said Woods. “I must have landed on my hands.” A committed rider, Woods jumped back on the bike as fast as he could only to realize his right hand was in pain. For 10 miles, he rode with a limp hand trying to figure out the cause of his pain. “I was diagnosed with a metacarpal shaft fracture,” said Woods. “Monday I went to see an orthopedic specialist to have it x-rayed again and was placed in a cast. At this point, surgery is not necessary. I plan to be back to the WORCS series at Payette, Idaho 100 percent and hopefully can make the Havasu round.” Woods is a two-time champion in the WORCS series and opening round winner of the AMA Hare Scrambles race earlier this month.
