The series is coming right down to the final moto one the day Sunday. As the series champion Spud Walters, sponsored by White Brothers/American Honda is a slight 15 points off the main jet (374-359) to his teammate Paul Carpenter. With this double-points paying event, it’s going to be awesome. Walters stated the following after finishing third overall last round in Lakewood, Colorado, ‘I am going into Floresville ready to hang it all out for the championship. I want that #1 plate again.’ Walters has won four (4) overall events and Carpenter has captured the top position three (3) times. It’s been a great show for these two. Additionally the competition has been at an all time high and has seen a total of 549 Premier Pro Am riders participate, averaging still 61 per event. There are 212 riders that will have National Numbers after nine rounds so far. The record of 83 entries happened at Washougal and 77 in Phoenix. How’s the name Sean Hamblin strike you as one (1) overall to his credit, and Guy Cooper nailed the win recently in Lakewood, Colorado. John Dowd and Keith S. Johnson faired pretty well themselves. Kip Sandell, Rory Sullivan and Josh Kellogg didn’t let the 7,000 plus spectators down at all either.
