LAS VEGAS SX: 3 CHAMPIONS CROWNED
The final round of the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross season took place at Sam Boyd stadium in Vegas Saturday and champions were crowned in all three classes. In the 450 class, Jason Anderson had to get 10th or better to earn the title. The only rider with a mathematical chance to catch him was Marvin Musquin, who has been on a hot streak in recent rounds. Eli Tomac, on the other hand, has been hot all year, but also suffered some disastrous rounds. He crashed out of three main events and didn’t attend the second round of the season. Still, he won eight Supercrosses this year, including this one. Musquin challenged him for half the main event, but in the end, Tomac led every lap and finished with a safe margin. Anderson, in the meantime, spent the whole race in fifth place, safely counting down the laps to his championship.

Both 250 East and 250 West championships were on the line, as this was the final East-West Challenge. Zach Osborne (East) and Aaron Plessinger (West) were in similar situations: they didn’t have to win, but they couldn’t fall too far back, either. Both riders had poor starts, then found each other and rode conservative races. Up front, Adam Cianciarulo was the fastest rider of the night. In winning, he came within two points of Plessinger, who was eighth. Osborne’s main rival in the East was Jordan Smith, who was second behind Cianciarulo in Saturday night’s main event. Osborne’s seventh-place finish put him eight points up on Smith.
