KIEDROWSKI MAKES GOOD AT ELSINORE

By winning the Hamel 100 at the Elsinore GP Sunday, Mike Kiedrowski scored his first major win since joining Team Suzuki Off-Road one year ago. The MX Kied had relief all over his face when he took the podium after 22 laps around the brutal lake-side course?his teammate Steve Hatch had never been more than 15 seconds behind. In the early laps, the leader had been Ty Davis, but after a slow pit and some difficulties, the Montclair Yamaha star dropped to fifth. The 1-2 punch for team Suzuki was vindication for manager Mike Webb who had a luckless year in the Grand National Cross Country Series. With this win, the Suzuki team kicks off a more extensive competition schedule for the up-coming season. Instead of concentrating only on the GNCC races, the trio of Kiedrowski, Hatch and Rodney Smith will also race in the new west-coast GP series.
