JARRETT TAKES THE MOOSE RUN

The Moose Run lived up to its reputation as ‘America’s toughest race,’ after the reigning OMA champion Jimmy Jarrett conquered the event at just under the five and half hour point. A large chunk of the riders battled fatigue, relentless technical sections and enough obstacles to guarantee this event as the Mother of the toughies.

Jarrett shadowed early front runners Justin Williamson, Adam Bonneur and Brit Jason Thomas during the initial two laps. This dog and cat game ended when the course broke in enough to see lines and Jarrett slammed his RM250 into overdrive. He won handily, taking his fourth win of the year in the OMA series. Justin, with his boot sole flapping cruised in for a strong second place finish. The next three slots were more of a contest as Jason Thomas, riding a CR250 with the head pipe pulled out of the cylinder (the sucker was loud enough to shatter windows!) put in a gallant ride besting local favorite Adam Bonneur, Fun Mart owner Tim Taber and Gas Gas rider Alan Westerfield for his second podium finish of the year.
