JANISCH WINS AFT SINGLES, SIPES 10th

The 2019 American Flat Track Championship got underway on Thursday with the Daytona TT opener from the renowned Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Jesse Janisch won the main on a Yamaha with KTM rider Dalton Gauthier in second. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team’s Dan Bromley got off to a great start in defending his 2018 AFT Singles Championship with a third-place podium finish at Round 1. Of special interest was 10th-place finisher Ryan Sipes. Sipes finished 14th inthe  250 East class at the Daytona Supercross, then raced the Wild Bore GNCC the next day. He suffered a DNF there, but came back to make the AFT Singles main event. That’s an impressive week.
