Trials champion Geoff Aaron will bring his Dunlop X-Show to the AMA Supermoto Championship presented by Parts Unlimited on Saturday, July 8, 2006, at the Waterford Hills Road Racing course in the Detroit suburb of Clarkston.
The Dunlop X-Show features Aaron attacking a series of impossible obstacles designed to amaze the audience. Whether Geoff is flying up a 10-foot vertical wall, leaping over big gaps, performing 180 degree helicopters, bunny hops, insane trick riding, full speed stoppies, or an endless array of balance skills, it?s certain that the show will leave fans cheering for more.
“I?m looking forward to riding at the Detroit Supermoto,” said Aaron. “We performed at a bunch of different ones, the Reno and the Vegas finals. We enjoy the racing and I like seeing Ward and the rest of the top Supermoto guys. This will be the first time I?ve performed in the Detroit area.”
Aaron described what is in store for fans: “Our demo rig has a couple of cool 12 foot vertical steps. We have giant Red Bull can obstacles; an Elf pyramid obstacle and we do a lot of ground tricks on my Gas Gas bikes.”
Aaron is considered one of the best trials riders America has ever produced. His list of accomplishments includes: ? AMA Indoor National Champion 2003 ? 9-time AMA Trials Champion ? 14-time USA Trial Des Nations team member ? 2000 AMA Amateur Athlete of the Year ? North American Motorcycle Union (NAMU) Trials Champion 00&04 ? 6-time El Trial De Espana winner ? 6-time New England Trials Champion ? 69 career National wins
In addition to Aaron?s appearance, the AMA Supermoto event will also showcase freestyle motocross featuring the innovative Trevor Vines, among others. Pit bike racing is also planned.
The AMA Supermoto at Waterford Hills is round five of the AMA Supermoto Championship. Former AMA Motocross and Supercross Champion Jeff Ward leads the series on his Troy Lee Designs Honda. Other top riders such as Doug Henry, Travis Pastrana and Jurgen Kunzel are also slated to race in the event.
