The partnership between Kawasaki and Suzuki has produced nothing but speculation and rumors until now. Kawasaki just announced the first co-op model: The KLX125. This is, as it turns out, a rebadged Suzuki DR-Z125. If you remember, Suzuki announced the little DR-Z late last year. It was intended as competition for the smash hit Yamaha TT-R125. Suzuki just found a handy air-cooled 125 four-stroke motor from a previous model and offered it in two different versions (mini and big-wheel). The Kawasaki version is identical aside from color and name, and it too will be available in two different wheel sizes. As for other models, neither company is saying much. But, there will be more joint ventures. We don’t expect those to include the KX and RM models, as Kawasaki is busy testing new KX’s of its own.
