At first glance the 2013 Honda CRF450R is nothing like the 2012 version, with new styling, new frame, new swingarm and a dual exhaust system.

NEW FOR 2013

 
  1.  All-new aluminum frame and swingarm 
  2.  All-new lighter subframe and airbox.
  3.  All-new air fork – KYB PSF® (Pneumatic Spring Fork).
  4.  All-new rear shock with updated settings.
  5.  All-new short and compact dual-muffler exhaust system.
  6.  Bold new styling features an aggressive look.
  7.  Improved footpeg mount features a patented debris-shielding design.
  8.  All-new front and rear disc rotor covers.
  9.  All-new MX51FA 80/100-21 front tire.
  10.  Increased fuel capacity from 1.50 gallons to 1.66 gallons.
  11.  Updated Unicam® engine.
  12.  All-new piston with increased compression ratio (from 12.0:1 to 12.5:1).
  13.  New two-hole oil jet adds extra cooling to the piston’s underside.
  14.  Cylinder head with revised porting and larger exhaust valves (from 30mm to 31mm).-      
  15.  Revised cam timing.
  16. All-new six-spring clutch design.
  17. Updated transmission.
  18. All-new radiators are mounted lower in the chassis.
  19. Revised fuel injection and ignition settings.
  The all-new twin-spar aluminum chassis was designed specifically to work with the CRF450R’s new air fork. The twin spars are lower to improve handling and to lower CG.
