FERRANDIS ENDS YEAR ON A HIGH NOTE

Dylan Ferrandis really put in his best effort in hopes of stalling the inevitable, and there was literally nothing else he could do. A 1-1 on the day was a great way to end the season, but still left him short of a championship when all was said and done. After clinching the championship in moto one, it was clear to see that winning the last race of the season wasn’t the most important thing on his mind. 2-4 on the day was still good enough to finish the season off with a third overall. Justin Cooper wasn’t in the title hunt coming into this round, but still put a 100 percent effort in to cap off his season. 250 Moto One

Kyle Peters grabbed the holeshot of the 23rd 250 class moto of the year and led for a bit, while dealing with pressure from Dylan Ferrandis and Justin Cooper. Both Ferrandis and Cooper found their way by, bringing Adam Cianciarulo along with them, as well. Mitchell Falk ran out front for a good while, too, but just couldn’t match the pace of the other front runners. Cooper made his way around his teammate for a couple of laps, but both Ferrandis and Cianciarulo would pass him later in the moto. Dylan crossed the line in first, doing all he needed to do to try and take the championship to the last moto, but Cianciarulo’s second in moto one locked up the title for him. Justin Cooper held on for third in the first moto. Here’s how the rest of the 250 riders finished in moto one:

250 Moto Two

Once again, the season’s top three all got out to a great start, Dylan Ferrandis grabbed the holeshot with Adam Cianciarulo and Justin Cooper closely behind. The three quickly began to gap themselves from the rest of the pack, but Chase Sexton was able to grasp the pace and latch onto the back of Cianciarulo, eventually passing him for third. Out front the two Star Racing/Yamaha riders battled it out until the finish, Dylan Ferrandis taking home the moto win. Justin Cooper finished second and Chase Sexton rounded out the podium.
