Fant Files: Ti- Lube 2 Stroke Treasure / 2007 Honda CR125

Project Ti Lube Honda CR 125 built by Buddy and Jimmy Brooks

Roaming the pits of Las Vegas at the end of the season can be a bit mind numbing. That is until you come across a treasure like the one sitting under the Ti-Lube Honda rig this weekend. When we saw it we had to get the details….

Through an acquaintance, Buddy Brooks found this 2007 Honda CR125 in Bardstown, Kentucky. It was owned by a farmer who never really touched it. The plastic wrapping was still on the seat and the original air filter was still clean. A diamond in the rough.

No Yoshimura is not in the two-stroke exhaust game! This system just features Yosh labels for some added shock value. Looks to us like its a Pro Circuit system.

Factory Connection did the suspension front and rear and tuned it to Brooks preferences.

A Moto Stuff 280mm front brake rotor was installed for ultimate stopping power.

Pro Pegs from Moto Stuff were installed and even have the Honda inscribed print on them.

The actual peg mounts are off a 2017 CRF250.

A Hammerhead Designs shifter was installed and actually came off a 2017 CRF250 as well.

Stock hubs, stock spokes, and Excel A60 rims for the CR build. The hubs were polished to give it some more eye candy.

Renthal took care of the gearing and handlebars. An RK gold chain was laced up to finish it off.

Let’s get into the motor because this is where things get interesting. Brooks installed a Vertex high compression piston into the CR125. This bike was given an OEM 1995 6 speed transmission as well.

A closer look at the motor. Blue CV4 hoses andV Force reeds were added to the build.

Brooks installed a 38mm Keihin carburetor. Believe it or not this carburetor is off a 2007 Suzuki RM250.

We believe a Pro Circuit Ti2 Shorty silencer with Yoshimura labels on it. Would be cool if Yosh threw their hat into the two-stroke ring though.

Hinson Clutches and Twin Air filters were added into the Brooks build.

Brooks made these custom bar mounts just for this CR125 project.

bike8 (1 of 1)

You can see here a full Moto Stuff brake line was installed to match with the other braking components.

Brooks installed a Cycra plastic skid plate but had to make new mounting points on the frame for it to properly be secured down.

Cycra provided Brooks with an updated front fender and number plate to give it a more modern feel. 139 designs topped off the build with a custom Ti-Lube Honda graphic scheme. If this ever ends up in California we expect Brooks to let us throw a leg over it but we may have to wait in line. Noren has already mentioned he would like to even race it…maybe even at an outdoor national. Huge thank you to Buddy Brooks for letting us check out this unique find.
