TWO-STROKE TUESDAY: KAWASAKI KX65 REBUILD

A 2003 Kawasaki KX65 project for the little rippers is featured on this week’s Two-Stroke Tuesday brought to you by Boyesen. We put products from Works Connection, Twin Air and Pro Circuit in our 2-Stroke Hardware section and 2-Stroke Theater has four different videos that premix lovers will enjoy. Kawasaki faithful don’t miss our exclusive link to insane KX250 project at the bottom of this post.

This KX65 was rebuilt from the ground up using a lot of elbow grease and a variety of aftermarket products .

IMS Pro Series pegs for the KX65 provide a cool polished look and a much larger platform than the OEM Kawasaki models.

The engine was completely rebuilt using a Wrench Rabbit kit. The kit includes all the gaskets and internal hardware needed to rebuild the top and bottom-end. We added a V-Force reed cage for some performance increases.

TM Designs makes a rear chain guide for the KX65 made out of the same material as the bigger Kawasaki’s

Faster USA rebuilt the stock wheels adding a Cerakote finish to the hubs, new bearings, spokes and a set of black Excel rims.

FMF Racing makes a Gold Series Fatty for the KX65 that was teamed with a Powercore-2 silencer.

This Kawasaki KX65 project is a perfect example of taking an older machine and making it better than new and not going bankrupt in the process. Even with all the numbers calculated this machine still cost less than a brand new unit.
