DESTRY ABBOTT & KAWASAKI PART WAYS

My beginning with Kawasaki was 20 years ago and I have so many great memories there, which makes it bittersweet to announce that my career with them has come to an end. I’m grateful for all their years of support, winning 10-major championships with them and getting to work with so many amazing people over the years. They had the team every off-road racer dreamed of riding for and I was lucky enough to be part of that for 20 years! It’s pretty fitting to have done the KX500 project and having it as my last project with Kawasaki (before my Leukemia diagnoses). I started my career with Kawasaki on a KX500, and now I’ll close this chapter of my life on one as well.
There have been many changes over the years, but it is heartbreaking to see them not supporting any type of off-road events anymore! I really don’t think they realize how important off-road racing and the weekend riders are to this industry, but unfortunately they’ve decided to put their emphasis elsewhere which is the end of an era for Team Green Off-Road and a spot for myself with Kawasaki. I love this sport and everything it has given me! Moving forward I might be on a different bike, but I promise you’ll be seeing me and @da8training at a lot of races and working with more amazing riders in the future. I do have some exciting plans for the future, so stay tuned for that news which I hope to announce next week.
