TEAM USA’s Kurt Caselli started off by posting the best time in the sandy ‘Acerbis’ test (run twice each day). The next two tests saw him struggle a bit with his finishes out of the top five. His closest competitor apparently had an even worse day. Finland’s Juha Salminen fell in one test and lost nearly a minute, dropping him to third overall individual at the end of the day behind Caselli and France’s Johnny Aubert.

‘The tests today were more technical than yesterday, obviously, with the rocks’ Caselli said.

As riders get it to the half way mark , Finland, with the help of KTM factory riders Juha Salminen and Marko Tarkkala, leads the way in the coveted World Trophy competition. American Kurt Caselli, competing in the E3 class, continues to lead the way on his KTM 300, followed by Johnny Aubert (E2, France), with Salminen (E2) in overall third. Waiting in the wings are Tarkkala (E3) and fellow KTM Enduro Factory Team rider Alessandro Belometti of Italy (E2) in fourth and fifth place.
