The fifth round of the MSR Big 6 GP series took place this weekend at the Primm resort in Nevada, about 40 miles south of Vegas. That was just far enough away from the masses that invaded Southern Nevada for boxing, Supercross, EnduroCross and a half dozen other big events. Some riders even managed to ride the GP, and watch both EnduroCross and Supercross, which took place on Friday and Saturday, respectively. As far as we know, no one managed to take in the Mayweather/Pacquiou fight, too.
The Pro class in the Big 6 series has come down to a case of Colton Udall versus the world. After finishing third in the first two rounds, Colton dominated the next two and developed a solid points lead. This one could very easily have had different results.

Number-one-plate holder Eric Yorba is just getting out from under a cloud of bad luck that has plagued him all season. He took the start and set a pace that no one could match. Behind him, Udall made a first-lap charge that took him into second place, and that set the stage for a two-man dual that lasted the whole race. There was a section of round rocks that threw a little chaos into every lap. If Yorba got through it cleanly, he would pull ahead. If Udall did, he would close the gap or take the lead. The two of them started trading the lead every lap. In the early half of the race, they pulled way from the pack, while Trevor Stewart, Justin Seeds and Ryan Reina battled for third overall.

Udall finally took the lead for good with two laps to go. Yorba was pleased just to finish for the first time in the series. Reina took over third after Stewart got a flat tire and Seeds fell, Benny Breck was fifth. For more results, go to www.big6racing.com.
