We get questions about this Yamaha YZ300 project all the time so on this week’s Two-Stroke Tuesday we give you another look at our Yamaha YZ300 project built by Anthony DiBasilio before he was the race team manager of the Husqvarna off-road effort in the USA . As you can see the engine was completely rebuilt! Anthony the owner of Wrench 42 Motorsports is a former KTM factory mechanic so attention to detail is on point. What catches your eye in this picture? Is it the Rekluse clutch, Athena big-bore, Pro X crank assembly or how clean the cases are?
Anthony and Brian at Wrench 42 Motorsports live and breathe in the SoCal moto scene everyday. Anthony is a former KTM factory mechanic that has worked with many high profile riders through the years and Brian is a big part on the testing department at our sister publication Motocross Action. They both put tons of effort in on this build and the results speak for themselves.
Clarke Gas Tanks is one of those companies that has been around the moto industry for a long time. They are the only company making stock size replacement tanks for the YZ250 two-stroke in black. The tanks are great quality and priced affordable as well. They also make stock size replacement tanks for other models as well .
Titanium Pro Pegs from Moto Stuff are made with aircraft quality titanium by hand, feature a wide platform and a very aggressive tooth design. The blue neoprene Peg Saver from Seal Savers are designed to prevent dirt and debris from packing in around the pivot point keeping everything working properly.
The ARC RC-8 quick adjust clutch perch assembly is CNC machined and features the patented ARC alloy folding lever.
We know everyone is focused on the “Cone-Look” pipe from Bills Pipe in this picture but there are plenty more items to look at. How about that Rekluse Torque-Drive clutch, Boyesen Supercooler, MotoStuff titanium pegs and all that Specbolt Nickel Wurks hardware.
A P3 Carbon front rotor guard is protecting an oversized front rotor kit from the crew at Moto Stuff. The oversized Blade Brake kit features a 280mm front rotor and a 6061 billet aluminum bracket that is among the lightest and strongest available on the market today.
Cant have a “Cone Look” pipe without a carbon fiber silencer right. The MX2 silencers is all about bling and performance.
The Athena YZ300cc kit comes complete, ready to bolt-on with all gaskets and o-rings included. We added a Boyesen RAD Valve system and black ignition cover. The cases and most the external parts were Vapor Blasted by Wrench 42 Motorsports.
Dubya USA overhauled our stock wheels with a grey cerakote finish on the hubs, new bearings, stainless steel spokes and their very own black rims. We wrapped both ends with the brand new Maxxcross MX ST tires with R&D done by Jeremy McGrath himself.
The YZ300 build was topped of with a custom matte graphics kit from Backyard Designs and a custom complete seat from SDG . The all black gripper seat has grey stitching for that personal touch.
