Round 3 of the National Hare and Hound took place this past weekend at Little Sahara OHV in Utah. Overnight, it rained and stormed, changing the course to pleasant conditions. The bomb run this round was about one mile long and racers could take any line choice between the start banners and end banners. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jacob Argubright charged off the start and his line choice was successful as he was first to the end of the bomb.
38 miles into the race and through the first pit, Jacob was 2nd overall, less than a minute behind the leader. His position was consistent for the next 21 miles and to the second pit. Taking off onto the 3rd and final 30+ mile loop, he took advantage of the leader’s mistake of missing a turn and getting lost. He moved into the lead and the two battled for the remainder of the loop to the finish. Jacob came out as the winner by 22-seconds.
“Today was a great day of racing in Utah. I worked extremely hard to get up front and I believe I made smart choices that really paid off in the end,” said Jacob. “My Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing FC 450 had me feeling confident all day and I am looking forward to the remainder of the season. A big thank you to my team and Husqvarna for helping me put this win together today.”
