APR 2—BIG BUCK PREVIEW

APR 2?BIG BUCK PREVIEW

It?s going to be an all-out dogfight

This weekend the GNCC parade will be heading to South Carolina for the Big Buck GNCC. With a name like ‘Big Buck’ you know the racing?s going to be good. Don?t bother telling that to Rodney Smith, Jason Raines, or Barry Hawk, as they already know it?s going to be an all-out dogfight for the win. For Rodney Smith, after taking his second win of the season only two weeks ago and capturing the points lead, he?s in the driver?s seat and will be guy everyone?s gunning for.

Why would we even mention Jason Raines being a threat for the big ?W? this weekend? Sure, he broke his shoulder at the opening round and wasn?t expected to come back from such a devastating injury, but Raines came back swinging. If the GNCC series were to allow every rider to drop their lowest race score of the series, Jason would be the hands down points leader. With finishes of 3rd, 1st, and 2nd at the last three rounds, everyone had better watch out for this kid come Sunday.

Barry Hawk started off phenomenally, taking a third place finish at the opening round and winning the second round. Then in round three Hawk caught the flu bug and had to settle for eighth place. Disaster struck in Morgantown, NC when Barry took a joyride into a river, submerging his bike and his opportunity to maintain the points lead. Look for Hawk to strike back this weekend in South Carolina.

Of course you can?t count anyone out from winning this weekend, especially Fred Andrews and Mike Kiedrowski. Both riders have reached the podium, and both are also in search of the elusive first place finish.

Make sure to keep your guns drawn, because it?s going to be a shootout this weekend at the Big Buck GNCC between quite a few major players.
