TWO-STROKE TUESDAY: FASTER USA 2006 YZ125 REBUILD

The Faster USA 2006 Yamaha project started out as a $1,500 purchase on Craigslist and ended up as one of the trickiest YZ125 builds we have ever been apart of. Check out that frame powder coated a metallic blue by San Diego Powder Coating. The engine was completely rebuilt using Wiseco performance products and some Cerakote coatings were added to spruce it up a bit. The Pro Circuit Works Style pipe and Ti-2 Shorty silencer added some bark.The Galfer oversized front rotor kit and custom built steel braided lines added much needed brake power to the 2006 YZ125. As you can see the OEM Nissin caliper received some TLC as well.The R-Tech Revolution plastic kit completely transforms the look of the Faster USA YZ125. A VHM head allows you to adjust compression ratios with different domes and the cylinder received some porting as well. V-Force reeds and a Pro Circuit exhaust also added some performance gains. Luxon is a new company in the triple clamp market out of San Diego. Their YZ125 clamps are designed to be lighter and stronger than the OEM units machined from billet aluminum. The handlebar clamps are also machined from billet and feature titanium hardware. Vince and Colin did a great job on this build and we will be the first ones to admit it’s on the extreme side of a Craigslist build. But, if you really start crunching the numbers you can realistically build one brand new machine this way or two used ones for the same money. Just let that sink in!
